           Epiphany

Epiphany is known as the season of light.

Epiphany begins 12 days after Christmas.  The celebration marks the arrival of the magi (The Three Wise Men) who followed the bright star that led to Baby Jesus. Throughout this season, we are asking God to illuminate the light of the Holy Spirit upon us.

The season ends with the Transfiguration of Jesus which is when Jesus’s appearance changes and becomes glorified.

“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’ ”

  John 8:12  (NIV)
