Who Was Christ and What did He Mean?

Jesus was a fugitive and a radical on the edges of society, but Wills believes his message was
about inner personal transformation, and not social reform. His Kingdom of God was outside the constraints of time and space.
Join a discussion centered on Garry Wills’ book “What Jesus Meant.” The book is a thoughtful
analysis of the Jesus and his message. Copies of the book cost $15.00, and are available from the church office.
Jesus’ highest hopes for us were that we be loving and selfless. His teachings are at odds with
those who would use his words and deeds to set up institutions, defend political positions and proclaim moral superiority.
Our series of three discussions will take place in January and early February, 2007, on the 7th and 21st
of January and on the 4th of February, each session beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Heritage Room.
